Dear Readers:
Columbine Isolated Victims, Ignored Signs is a book which highlights the many things that we face in our nation. Violence in our schools is on the rise and it same as though school shootings is becoming the norm. One young life is just to much to lose, however, my infant brothers and sisters are falling short to horriffic violence rather rapidly, and as disturbing as this may sound, you have many of our students in our schools provoking and fueling this violence by the practices of intolerance, bullying, and hate.
School shootings, as often as we may see them happen, they don't just happen, individuals are rather troubled and provoked for extensive periods of time, and it is at those desperate low periods in the lives of victims, they decide or rather pushed to resort to heinous acts of violence.
This may not be acceptable to many, but I feel as though we should apologize to shooters and family members of shooters after they commit these acts of violence, as horrific as they may be, for the simple fact that they were the real or primary victims, and those whose lives they had shorten or change were simply innocent bystanders. Atleast some of them.
I don't endorse shooters or anyone that uses violence to resolve problems, however, I sympathize with some of these shooters, for the fact that if they had not been pushed aside, bullied and targeted to thatdesperate point in their lives, they may not have made such decision.
I am convince in my heart that If we target those who practice these acts of intolerance, bullying, homosphobia and hate, we may not prevent it all, but we can save, if only one life.
